Jülich Research Centre
Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH conducts research to provide comprehensive solutions to the grand challenges facing society in the fields of energy and environment, information and brain research.
The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is part of this research centre and has been operating the first German supercomputing facility since 1987 and continues the long tradition of scientific computing in Jülich. It provides researchers in Germany and Europe with the highest level of computing power and expertise. It currently operates two high-performance computers, JUQUEEN and JURECA. On these supercomputers, high-resolution simulations will deliver precise insight into the flow phenomena of the nose.
We are convinced that high-performance computing in the medical field will become increasingly important. However, the analysis of large simulation data and their visualization must be intuitive, target-oriented, and useful for users without experience in the field of parallel computing. JSC has its own group of experts, organized as a cross-sectional team, whose main focus is the visualization of large data on supercomputers and the development of methods for the use of virtual reality in science.
